Welcome to the Shiocton Fitness Center & MPF!

Since November 2018, the Shiocton Fitness Center has been introducing new, interactive fitness programs to the Shiocton community and beyond, providing a healthy lifestyle to students, athletes, and a good deal of community members.

This unique facility features a variety of programs and products many would only find in large-scale fitness centers in suburban cities while being located just seconds away from the heart of small town Shiocton. Treadmills, stair climbers, and stationary bikes are but a few of the equipment pieces in the fitness area, while free weights, bench press, and squat racks populate the weight lifting area.

While that in itself is a spectacle for such a small town, the Shiocton Fitness Center & MPF also includes a large gym area, providing space for school athletic programs, indoor sports practices, and other academic studies.

The MPF is designed to meet the following needs:

Academic  -  because the fitness center and gym area are connected by a wall of windows and large, overhead door, our Physical Education teachers now have the ability to differentiate their instruction for students; because of the increased spaced and increased number of machines and equipment, all students are able to be engaged in learning and developing fit lifestyles during the entire class period.

Athletic -  the new gym area provides the wrestling program  -  Varsity to youth - with a dedicated practice space. Ceiling mounted hoists facilitate an easy means of storing the mats between uses.  The gym is open for use to school teams, as well as community-based teams.   Additionally, spring sports will be able to benefit from the increased indoor practice space as the new gym area will be equipped with drop-down batting cages for baseball, softball, and golf.

Community  -  Our very own "Y", the fitness and weight room is open to the community before and after traditional work hours, as well as Saturdays.  Visit the Wellness webpage under the Community tab from the District's website for a calendar of dates and hours.
